University rooms up for grabs
August 28 2013
There is still room available at Glyndŵr University’s multi-million pound apartment complexes for prospective home and international students.
The University is celebrating improved student numbers this summer yet places are still up for grabs at the Student Village on Plas Coch and £40million Wrexham Village site, as well as Corbishley Hall in Northop.
A successful Open Day earlier this month, visited by up to 400 families, only added to demand.
Lynda Powell, Director of Campus Management and Commercial Services, said: “We have had a very busy few months and it’s fantastic to see we’ve more students coming to Glyndŵr University than last year.
“For those who are still deciding whether to study here or elsewhere, we do still have space available. A lot of people may still be deliberating whether to stay at home or study here and uncertain whether it was too late to apply.
“There is still time and we can help you make the decision. Also, if you don’t want to commit to a 37 or 40-week contract we are happy to offer a semester-one contract so students can see whether they like living on campus or want to find a private residence, which we can also help organise.”
Lynda added: “We hope those who, in particular, will be in their first year of study, are on a full-time course or live too far away to be able to find private, rented accommodation, get in touch with us.
“People with a social or physical need will also be accommodated to a high standard and guaranteed a place in halls for the duration of their studies, unless they would prefer accommodation in the private sector, when we may be able to get suitable landlord information.
“At Glyndŵr University the quality of our students’ accommodation and life outside of their studies is as important to us as the academic side. Making sure they are happy and secure is top of our agenda.”
