Louise was appointed as Academic Registrar in November 2014. She has responsibility for the strategic leadership and operational management of the University’s Academic Registry, which provides the central administration for the academic programmes and students of the University. Academic Registry helps to ensure the University is compliant with external regulatory and statutory frameworks and legislation, and contributes to an excellent student experience by providing governance structures and operational processes to support the entire student lifecycle form enrolment to gradation.
Originally joining the University in 2007 when it was NEWI, Louise has previously served as Faculty Registrar and School Registrar, and prior to that worked in the academic registry at the University of Chester. With a background in ceramic design, Louise graduated from Staffordshire Polytechnic with a BA (Hons) Design in 1990, and then completed a PGCE at Leicester Polytechnic in 1991, gaining qualified teacher status. She combined producing her own pottery with art and design lecturing roles in FE and HE for 10 years, before becoming Assistant Registrar at West Cheshire College. More recently Louise has gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Administration and is now working towards an MSc. She is a member of the Association of University Administrators and the Academic Registrars Council.
