Brief Biography

I joined Glyndwr University as a Lecturer in the School of Computing and Communications Technology in October 2008. Prior to that, starting from September 2006, I was an IRCSET Embark Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Computer Science at University College Cork. I got my PhD in Computer Science at the City University of Hong Kong in 2006. I was a Visiting Research Fellow of the Network Group at the University of New South Wales in 2007. I was a Visiting Researcher in Computer Science at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 2006. I am a member of the IEEE Computer Society and IEEE Communications Society.

Research Interests

My research interests are in computer networks and communication systems, and are focused on (but not limited to):

  • Multimedia communications in wireless multi-hop networks, especially wireless mesh networks and wireless sensor networks.
  • Overlay networks, including overlay multicasting, location-aware network topology inference, etc.
  • Distributed computing.
  • QoS control, traffic control, and admission control in wired and wireless networks.
