| This Helpfile is intended to complement the Year One BA 'Introduction to Media Studies' course, a module that was first taught in 1996. It contains schemes of work for each of the course sessions, in addition to providing suggestions for further reading. |
| These notes will form the basis of the work we will cover in the sessions, and you are advised to work through them in the order presented in the Timetable. Please note, however, that these work schemes are not intended to be the last word on each of the topics! Rather, they aim to provide a series of stimulating initiations into certain key areas and topics. |
| The Assessment requirements for this module are tied into your work on the following schemes of work, and you will be assessed on the basis of your progress through the material. Lectures and seminars will provide with you with the opportunity for talking through each of the topic areas, clarifying and developing ideas, and offering the opportunity for amplification and argument. | |
