Glyndŵr University’s commitment to the Welsh language and culture reflects the inspiration we draw from Owain Glyndŵr and centuries of Welsh tradition.

We are determined to ensure that rich legacy lives on, and actively promote learning Welsh to students and staff across the university.

The university also offers courses which recognise the importance of the language to modern-day Wales, and its growing international significance.

For example, the FdA Welsh Translation is an industry-focused course which prepares students for a career in translation, a growing profession at the heart of the Welsh public and private sectors.

Glyndŵr University is also working alongside Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol.

The aim of the Coleg is to increase, develop and broaden the range of Welsh medium study opportunities at universities in Wales.

Students who speak Welsh can also benefit from the Coleg’s Welsh medium resources.
