Duncan MascarenhasBA (Hons), MSc (Hons), PhD, C.Psychol.
Duncan is a senior lecturer in sport and exercise psychology. He graduated in Business, Sport and Recreation from Manchester Metropolitan University in 1997, and achieved a Masters degree in Sport Psychology in 1998. Following his interest in sports officiating he worked for five years with the RFU national and international referees, and moved to Edinburgh University where he completed his PhD in referee decision-making in 2005. Duncan became a British Association of Sport and Exercise Science Accredited Sport & Exercise Psychologist in 2001 and has worked with national and international athletes, coaches and referees in a number of sports. He recently completed a post-doctorate research contract at the University of Otago in New Zealand working with their top football referees. Teaching responsibilities
