Glyndwr University's Sport and Exercise Sciences department was ranked first for feedback and teaching in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2013) and first for student satisfaction (The Times University Guide 2013).
We are an active and vibrant subject area, with staff members that are enthusiastic, experienced, student-centred and active researchers. We offer fantastic opportunities for students; not only will you increase your academic knowledge of sport and exercise sciences, sports coaching, sport development or equestrian psychology, but you will also be given a range of opportunities to develop experience in the workplace over your course of study – vital for anyone seeking employment within the sector on graduation.

Sport and exercise sciences conference features international experts
LEADING figures from the world of sport and exercise sciences visited Glyndŵr University for a successful student conference.
The university’s ninth annual Sport and Exercise Sciences Conference featured international sports nutritionist Professor Don MacLaren of Liverpool John Moores University.
Also speaking at the event was Adam Owen, an alumnus of Glyndŵr University’s predecessor institute NEWI and now head of sports science at Rangers FC. >>Read more

Glyndŵr University graduate trains 6 Nations stars
Sport & Exercise Sciences graduate from Glyndŵr University Ryan Chambers revealed how his work behind the scenes helped to keep the Welsh rugby union team in shape for the 2009 6 Nations Championships. Ryan revealed that “as a strength and conditioning intern, my role was to assist players with their weight training sessions by providing appropriate warm-up and cool-down activities.” >> Read More

Students rate Glyndŵr University Sport & Exercise Sciences 2nd best in UK for teaching quality
Based on student satisfaction ratings, Sport & Exercise Sciences (SES) at Glyndŵr University were rated as the second best in teaching and top of the Guardian’s University Guide 2010 for assessment feedback. Climbing 34 places, SES jumped from 51st to 17th in the Sports Science table, leapfrogging a number of local rival universities. >> Read More
