What is Psychology?
Have you ever wondered why people behave in a certain way? Why do our memories sometimes fail us? How do we learn things? How people act, react and interact? All these questions and more can be answered by studying BSc (Hons) Psychology within the Division of Psychology at Glyndŵr University.
This programme is accredited by the BPS as conferring eligibility for Graduate Membership of the Society with the Graduate Basis for Registration provided the minimum standard of qualification of second class honours is achieved. This is a first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
Psychology is the study of the human mind and behaviour, and the thoughts, feelings, and motivation essential to that behavior. The scientific nature of psychology is emphasised throughout the programme, with specific modules related to individual, interpersonal and group processes (e.g. social psychology, developmental psychology, individual differences, cognitive psychology and psychobiology).

The Psychology programme based at Glyndŵr University provides a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary psychology and training in the scientific basis of psychology, which is delivered by experienced and enthusiastic staff.

Facilities
We have six labs available to the Division of Psychology. These include a psychometric lab, two teaching labs (one containing 20 computers and the other 15), a high tech sports performance lab, a direct observation room, experimental cubicles and a simulation lab.

Research
Within the Division of Psychology there is a thriving research culture, covering a wide range of areas of psychology. In addition to the core teaching team, there are 10 PhD students and 5 Visiting Research Fellows.

Staff
At present there are 7 full-time members of staff representing a range of different perspectives in terms of theoretical orientations and methodology in psychology.

The programme is accredited as conferring eligibility for the Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, provided the minimum standard of a lower class Honours is achieved. This is the first step towards becoming a Chartered Psychologist.
