Education research
Within Education, research and scholarly activity are promoted, organised and monitored by the Professional and Vocational Education Research Unit, whose research team comprises experienced researchers from a range of educational and other academic disciplines.
A broad range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including research degrees (MPhil, PhD and Professional Doctorate), is offered within Education. At every level, the importance which staff in Education attach to developing and practising research methodology skills is emphasised.
For example, final-year undergraduate students complete a research article, while MA Education students undertake a range of research-based assignments, culminating in the writing of a dissertation of between 16000-20000 words.
Staff within Education undertake a variety of research projects, including those leading to publication
