What is Childhood and Family Studies?

Working with children, young people and families is fast becoming a core concern of educational, social and family policy makers on a national and international scale.

Here at Glyndŵr University, Childhood and Family Studies is a forward thinking department which offers a rigorous and interdisciplinary study into the fields of childhood, the family and education. We offer students the opportunity to explore in depth some of the key issues facing children, young people and families in contemporary society.

Our curriculum design, programme delivery and research interests are closely aligned with sector needs, which include examining childhood, the family and educational perspectives through a multi-disciplinary approach.

As a student-centred department we pride ourselves on the support and placement opportunities we can offer students in the local and wider community.
