The programmes within the Institute are focussed on a range of academic subjects which explore various aspects of society. Many of our courses benefit from professional accreditation, which helps our graduates to secure jobs in the relevant field once they have completed their studies. Our students go on to work in a range of sectors including the health service, local authorities, the voluntary sector and the private sector.

Staff in the Institute are committed to cross discipline working and encourage the sharing of approaches and ideas to support innovation. For example, in the field of health our academics’ expertise reflects a wide range of specialisms from nursing complementary medicine and psychology through to sport science and public health.
The institute benefits from the Centre for the Child, Family and Society, opened in 2011. Based on leading Scandinavian concepts, the centre offers the opportunity to progress an integrated approach to the study of the child from the perspective of health, nutrition, child psychology, exercise and education.
The Institute works to ensure that our courses are relevant to society as a whole, with a strong basis in applied research so that students are educated in a research rich environment that translates into the curriculum and into practice in relevant discipline areas.
Many of our students go on to study at post graduate level on our Master’s and Doctoral programmes as well as short courses for continuing professional development.
I am confident that you will receive a high level of support to reach your potential whilst studying at Glyndwr University and on behalf of the Institute I wish you every success with your studies and in your future careers.
