Chatterbox Playtimes (Language and Play Coordinator) - Flintshire

“I attended an information day by the coordinator of the Language and Play service and was so amazed by what was being offered to the parents and children by working together through play that I asked if I could possibly have a placement there.  I worked hard during that placement and did everything that was asked of me, learnt so much.  After completing my degree was offered some part time supply, which then progressed to part time contract…to full time contract.  The vacancy came up for coordinator and against some serious competition, got the job.  Moral of the story – show them what you can offer, always do your best and you never know where your path will lead.”

Helen Jones

BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies Degree, 2008

Primary Teacher

“I chose to do the Early Childhood Studies course part time for the first two years at night, then completed the final year as a full time student.  This gave me the chance to see different aspects through working part time and volunteering one day a week in a nursery setting.  During the course I gained awareness into how the pioneers of early education were the instigators of how children learn today.”
