Pre-registration Nursing

Simulation

All over the world the use of simulation as an adjunct to conventional teaching within nursing is growing at a phenomenal rate.

Simulation enables you to develop not only clinical skills but also non-technical skills such as collaboration, communication and decision making.

Simulation aims to mimic real life clinical situations within a practical training environment. It allows you to practise in a safe environment where mistakes become learning opportunities and you can build up your confidence before moving into contact with patients.

In conjunction with Wrexham Maelor Hospital, the Clinical Training Unit will facilitate simulation training for both pre- and post-registration nursing students in a variety of clinical scenarios; these are based on practice areas and reflect the current nursing curriculum at Glyndŵr University.
