Design & Multimedia
Why choose this course?
Graphic Design and Multimedia is a strong vocational course with outstanding industry links nationally, equipping you with all the skills you’ll need to be a designer of the next century. Our graduates are visually literate and leave the course technically able to cope with the demands of a fast-moving industry.
This course is designed for those who want to pursue a career in the creative industries, specialising in the area of Graphic Design and Multimedia. You are encouraged to develop your design potential, problem solving skills and creative thinking abilities. You will have the opportunity to develop graphic design and interactive design skills for the digital sector, through the exploration of the potential of advertising, packaging, web design, installation design, mobile communications and interactive television.
The course will help you gain the skills to develop your own individual style and visual language through the creation of a portfolio of work. It will stimulate your imagination through intellectual challenges, which are inherent in the practical assignments. These create an awareness of the world around you and facilitate a critical and contextual thought process whilst you practise and develop your design skills.
Our students are fortunate to have a supportive staff team who really care about the way you will develop and grow in confidence. You will learn how to come up with ideas and become creative problem solvers and communicators in the design industry.
The Arts School in Regent Street offers you a small and intimate experience, providing a real home from home experience. When you join us you will become part of our ever-growing Wrexham Glyndŵr family. The relationships forged on our programme become creative contacts for your future professional life as a designer.
*Please note the foundation year of this course is only available for 2017 entry.
This course is available as an integrated masters MDes Graphic Design and Multimedia.
I love the fact that I feel comfortable being myself (at Glyndŵr) and that I get the support that I need from both staff and other students from different courses.
