FdEng Automation, Instrumentation and Control
Industry is in need of engineers who can create, maintain, troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment and systems. Automation takes you through core skills in control and instrumentation, then on to diagnostics, industrial data networks and engineering diagnostics.
Automation, Instrumentation and Control covers a broad range of engineering fields and careers. You will learn about all relevant technologies and develop the skills which specialist, well-qualified engineers and technicians need. These cover the maintenance, calibration, design, specification, installation, troubleshooting and repairing of engineering systems.

Entry requirements and applying
The academic requirements for this course are at least 120 UCAS points; alternatively an Access Course or National Certificate may be accepted. You may be accepted without formal qualifications if you are able to demonstrate that you have suitable experience. You will be expected to be employed in a relevant industry and to have the support of your employer to study this course. See information on general entry requirements.

From 2012 our general academic requirement for an honours degree will be 240 UCAS points, and for a foundation degree 120 UCAS points. If you do not have the points required your application will still be considered. We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds and with a range of experiences.
