Glyndŵr University is an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Higher Education Approved Centre. The courses are:

Level 5 Certificate in Management

• This course is specifically designed to give practising or aspiring middle managers a solid foundation in their formal development in this role.

Level 5 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

• The course aims to provide practising managers with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal role.

Level 7 Certificate in Coaching and Mentoring

• This course aims to provides practising senior leaders and managers, or those working in a training and development role, with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal work role.

Coaching and mentoring for senior managers and leaders is defined as the process of enabling individuals to acquire the knowledge, skills and techniques needed to perform effectively in their occupational role by motivating, inspiring, challenging, stimulating and guiding them. The coach must be able to recognise the needs of individuals being coached, develop coaching programmes appropriate to meet those needs, and help individuals to achieve to their full potential.
