Glyndŵr University Sport

Our sports centre is situated at the heart of the University’s Wrexham campus. It is one of North Wales' premier sporting venues and has hosted several major sporting events as well as conferences.

There is a wide range of facilities available at the centre. We have two floodlit artificial pitches – one is a water-based international hockey pitch and the other a sand-based pitch for football. Adjacent is the Human Performance Laboratory. Our indoor facilities include a 1000sqm wooden sprung floor, a dance studio, fitness suite and spectator facilities.

The Sports Centre runs a number of classes such as yoga, Pilates, kickboxing and step, and supports the activities of a variety of sports teams such as hockey, football and basketball. The centre also offers a Healthy Lifestyle Packages to students wishing to improve their health through diet and fitness.

The sports centre has grown since we first opened our doors. We can now boast several Sports Development Officers as well as close links with community clubs and the Sports & Exercise Science team within Glyndŵr University.

Students studying on a full time programme on the main Wrexham campus can apply for support through our innovative Scholarship and Bursaries scheme.
