Creative Industries, Media and Performance
This subject area includes Art and Design, Communications Technology, Journalism and Media Studies courses. Built on a strong base of academic knowledge and staff experience, all courses offer valuable opportunities.
Teaching staff are frequently in consultation with world-recognised companies; advising and sharing ideas. The knowledge that comes from this is then fed back into the syllabus, resulting in academically sound degree programmes that are industry relevant, providing excellent career prospects on graduation. Housed either in our Regent Street Campus or the new £5 million Centre for the Creative Industries, the courses are designed to give students plenty of opportunity to raise their personal profile whilst studying; for example, the Creative Industries building also houses BBC Wales, so there is much potential of making excellent industry contacts.
A combination of ultra-modern facilities and very experienced teaching staff also allows a multi-disciplinary approach to learning. For example, print journalism students at Glyndŵr University are also encouraged to contribute to a Creative Industries blog.
