NEW Glyndŵr University postgraduate scholarship 2010/11

Following the success of the postgraduate scholarship offered in 2009/10, Glyndŵr University is pleased to offer a postgraduate scholarship for enrolments during the academic year 2010/2011.

The scholarship is equivalent to 50% of the home/EU course fee.

The scholarship is open to all Glyndŵr University graduates, graduates of other Welsh universities and graduates who have been domiciled in Wales for three years prior to their postgraduate studies - who hold an honours degree or equivalent.

The following full-time and part-time courses covered by the scholarship: MA,  MSc, MBA, MRes,  PGCert, PGDip, MPhil/PhD.

Eligibility for our 2010/11 scholarship

  • The applicants’ undergraduate course was completed successfully at Glyndwr University or any other Welsh university and an honours degree (or equivalent as determined by Admissions Office) awarded OR
  • The applicant is a graduate of any university and have had an honours degree awarded (or equivalent) and have been domiciled in Wales for three years prior to the commencement of the course
  • The applicant is not a debtor to Glyndŵr University
  • International students may receive the scholarship but at the Home/EU fee rate – see below
  • Their eligibility has been confirmed by both Student Programmes Office and Finance Office

Terms and conditions

  • The award is a reduction in fees, not a cash transaction paid to the student
  • It is awarded in year of study
  • The scholarship is equivalent to 50% of the home/EU fee
  • It is awarded pro rata for part-time study, over the first two years of enrolment only
  • Part-time Students must apply each year of study
  • It is awarded for the normal duration of the course only: students who have to repeat the year will not receive any scholarship for that extra year
  • It is applicable for enrolment in 2010/2011 academic year only Semesters One and Two but the closing date for applications for the academic year will be 15th July 2011
  • The postgraduate scholarship cannot be held in addition to another Glyndwr University scholarship

Please note

  • Universal fee scholarships to apply to all full-time and part-time Glyndŵr University staff where approval has been granted by the Head of School/Department. (Please note this does not apply to sessional staff)
  • The course fees are normally altered on an annual basis, however Glyndŵr University reserves the right to alter the above quoted fees without notice
  • Students on the PGCE or PGDip course 2010/11 may be eligible either for a fee grant or a scholarship.
  • Welsh courses may attract a 50% concession subject to satisfying Glyndŵr University's eligibility criteria.
