Glyndŵr University leaps up national rankings

Quality teaching and one of the best graduate employment rates in Wales have seen Glyndŵr University rise up the rankings in an annual university league table published today.
The university, based in Wrexham, moved up 11 places in The Guardian’s 2010 University Guide.
Big movements in scores for teaching, as rated by final year degree students, and career prospects ensured the rise on last year’s place in the table, when the university was the North East Wales Institute of Higher Education.
Professor Michael Scott, Vice-Chancellor of Glyndŵr University, said: “Moving up 11 places in the table is excellent news and demonstrates the terrific strides forward which the University has made in the last year. Students who study here leave with an excellent chance of finding employment in a graduate-level job and that’s what we’re all about – working with industry to deliver courses that equip graduates with the skills and knowledge that employers want.
“But these results are just the start – we are a University on the move upwards, a university with an exciting future ahead of us, and we’ll continue to invest and improve to provide our students with the experience and education that they deserve.”
