ABBA Magic live at William Aston Hall

One of the UK’s favourite ABBA tribute shows has been given a brand new makeover for 2008. Now in its 15th year, ABBA Magic heads to the William Aston Hall at Glyndŵr University on Thursday 27 November.

Featuring all of ABBA’s 17 top ten hits, ABBA Magic is Britain’s original ABBA show and revives the 70s and 80s supergroup phenomenon more than two decades on.

Glyndŵr University has teamed up with ABBA Magic for a competition to give away four pairs of tickets (worth over 50 pounds a pair) for the pre-show dinner and performance.

For the first time a pre-show dinner is going to be offered in the university’s Restaurant 1887 prior to the concert in the William Aston Hall. The dinner, starting at 6pm will be a special Abba themed menu including Abba Fizz on arrival.

Thirty five years ago Agnetha, Bjorn, Benny and Frida coined the name ABBA, going on to record and perform million-selling hits like Dancing Queen; Knowing Me, Knowing You; The Name of the Game; Mamma Mia and Take a Chance on Me. Mamma Mia! The Movie is the surprise smash hit of the year. This summer it has topped the UK box office charts two weeks running and broken the record for taking the most money of any musical film in US history.

Mamma Mia! The Movie’s success is no surprise to us,” says ABBA Magic producer Michael Taylor. “ABBA’s music has a lasting, universal charm. It appeals to all ages and our ABBA Magic concert show has been packing in fans at the UK’s top theatres for 11 years. Indeed, by the end of this year ABBA Magic will have been lifting audiences to their platform-booted feet for as long as the original artists did during the Seventies and Eighties!”

For 2008, ABBA Magic announces a brand new look as the world celebrates 35 years of ABBA. All new dazzling dance routines and glittering costumes combine with a completely rejuvenated set list, guaranteeing ABBA Magic’s place as the world’s number one concert show.

Tickets for the concert are £15.00 (£14.00 for concessions) and are available from Wrexham Tourist Information Centre on 01978 292015 and See Tickets on 0871 230 5596 or online at www.seetickets.com.
