Opportunity to find out about family history
3 May 2007
NEWI are running a number of short courses for those interested in learning more about their history. The three day long courses are free of charge and proved extremely popular last year when they helped a group of local people unearth information about their family histories.
With television programmes like the BBC’s ‘Who Do You Think You Are?’ stimulating interest in family and community history, finding out about your ancestors is becoming increasingly popular. This course is designed as a stress-free introduction to tracing your family history and will enable participants to learn from experts in local history who have a wealth of expertise in this field.
Family & Community History short courses will run at NEWI’s Plas Coch Campus throughout the Spring and Summer and participants will receive credits towards the Certificate of Continuing Education. The courses last for three days and are running on the following dates: 21-23 May; 4 -6 June; 18-20 June; 2-4 July; 9-11 July and 23-25 July.
