Wrexham Business School offers a European mix

5 June 2006

Wrexham Business School is running a month long Summer School this July (Monday 3rd July through to Friday 28th July). The summer school is open to students from across Europe, providing students the opportunity not just to find out about life at university but to meet people from other countries and strike up new friendships.

Students will be taught by lecturers who are experts in their field and are committed to providing high quality education and support. The four week course will cover study skills, business communication skills, presentation skills, marketing, creative thinking, human resource management, e-commerce and innovation.

Throughout the course there will be a number of business and cultural visits as well as guest seminars from industrialists and academics from a number of organisations which will add to the learning experience.

Speaking about the event Dr Alf Hatton, NEWI’s new Head of the Wrexham Business School said “The aim is to make this business Summer School an enjoyable and stimulating experience. Recent programmes like BBC2’s The Apprentice show that business is a vibrant and dynamic subject to study. The course covers the basics of many business techniques whilst giving the students an opportunity to study alongside people from a number of different countries. We already have students coming over from France and Spain and it would be great to have some British students to join them; after all organisations frequently carry out their business across the world why should studying be any different.”

Tuition fees including residential accommodation for the four weeks will be £350 or £100 for those who do not require accommodation.  For further details or to apply for a place contact Gill Fairclough on 01978 293160 or e-mail business.enquiries@newi.ac.uk
