Next month NEWI William Aston Hall will be welcoming the musical extravaganza ‘Roll Out The Barrel’. Music lovers will be able to roll back the years and bring back the memories with this gloriously happy show that has been lighting up theatres all over the country.
The night will feature over 65 non-stop golden oldies including music hall classics, show songs and cockney sing-a-longs. From old favourites like ‘Que Sera Sera’, the ‘White Cliffs of Dover’ and ‘I’m in the Mood for Love’ to songs you can’t help but sing along to like ‘Daisy Daisy’, ‘We’ll Meet Again’, ‘I’ve Got A Lovely Bunch of Coconuts’ and ‘Leaning On A Lamp Post’.
Roll Out The Barrel is a successful touring show devised and performed by Terry Bradford and Sussie Arvesen, who between them have a wealth of stage experience. They also possess a long and successful musical showcase as songwriters and producers.
In fact Terry’s musical career spans almost three decades. As a young singer/songwriter years of hard work paid off in 1978 when, as lead singer with the pop group CO-CO, he represented the UK in the Eurovision Song Contest and had a Top 10 hit with the song ‘Bad Old Days’. During this time he performed on countless national TV and radio shows in the UK and Europe, including three appearances on BBC’s Top of The Pops. As a record producer and musician, he has been involved in many exciting projects, working with among many others, Bucks Fizz, Shakin’ Stevens, Billy Connolly, The Fureys and Gary Wilmot. He has also famously provided lead vocals on a number of TV commercials and TV theme songs.
The show is on Friday 17th March at 7.30pm and promises to be perfect for anyone who thinks ‘they don’t write songs like they used to’. Tickets are £12 with concessions £10 available from The Tourist Information Centre , Lambpit Street, Wrexham or telephone 01978 292015.
