Martin Evans

Martin is a Senior Lecturer in Community Justice and Programme Leader for the BA (Hons) Criminal Justice

He worked in Merseyside as a probation officer and senior probation officer and has extensive experience having worked in the community, at the Liverpool Magistrates/Crown Courts and a number of years managing a team of welfare staff at HMP Liverpool.

He is also an accredited practice teacher who holds a Masters degree in Criminology. Martin draws upon his lengthy experience in training, practice teaching and research.

He has co-authored an article on anti-racist practice teaching and more recently he collaborated with a psychology lecturer in a study on gender and Pre-Sentence Reports, which was subsequently published in the Howard Journal for Penal Reform.

He has an ongoing involvement with the Liverpool Magistrates Court advising and assisting in the selection of magistrates.
