Welsh Assembly success for business graduate
31 October 2008
Andrea Hughes from Mold is storming away with her career thanks to her degree success.
Andrea graduated today with a degree in Business Management and could not be happier with her career since completing her course. “A colleague of mine convinced me to further my education and study for a degree, so I took up the challenge. I’m so glad I did, having the degree has really opened doors for me. I’m on cloud nine, absolutely overwhelmed with my achievement” she said.
She is now working for the Welsh Assembly Government, based in Mold and St. Asaph for The Department for Children, Education, Lifelong Learning and Skills helping to co-ordinate a wide range of projects. “I’m getting involved in a lot of different teams and making a lot of useful partnerships. Some of the work even involves me making contact with Glyndŵr University again. I’m loving the job and finding it really interesting.”
Andrea says she owes a lot of her success to the staff and lecturers at Glyndŵr University. “The business tutors have been fantastic. I had a few personal problems during my studies but the lecturers were always there to provide support and encouragement. The careers centre has also been very helpful to me.”
Andrea now hopes that her success will inspire her daughter who is currently studying A-levels to go to university.
