| | Course sessions are designed to run for approximately 2 hours, for a total of 14 weeks. Each week would involve some time given over to the viewing of texts, but a variety of teaching methods will be used: tutor lectures and handouts, student seminars, student workshops on practical exercises and limited tutorial/syndicate activities. The emphasis will be placed on giving you the opportunity to develop your own individual skills and understanding of film and television, through the viewing and discussion of a wide range of examples.
The module will rely, for its content and learning strategies, on the following schemes of work, with each week's work tied to a particular issue or theme. The notes for each session are intended to open out some ideas and introduce and develop concepts. You will be required to "log in" your responses to each week's scheme of work, so that you develop your own ideas and points of view.
